marigold (Tagetes)
Tagetes love the sun. This is hardly surprising, as they originally come from the USA, Mexico and the South American continent. Between 50 and 60 species are known, including the particularly popular species in this country, spice marigolds (Tagetes tenuifolia) and low marigolds (Tagetes patula).
