Physalis (star cherry)

Star cherry is a delicious, fruity, early-ripening physalis variety.

The small, cherry-sized berries can be nibbled, dried and made into jams and spreads.

The fruits are yellow-violet and have a special fruity taste; they fall off when they are ripe.

The plants grow up to about 50 cm tall and are wide-growing.

Fruits: small, yellow-violet, about 5-8 g (cherry-sized)

Sowing: pre-cultivation from late February to early March, outdoors in mid-May

Sowing depth: only cover seeds lightly with soil, keep moist but not wet

Germination: 7-14 days at 20-25°C

Plant spacing: 50x50 cm
