From July onwards, the flat-leaved sea holly bears blue flowers. Bees and other insects find them a good source of food. The flat-leaved sea holly is a summer green perennial with heart-shaped leaves in an attractive dark green. As an upright growing perennial, Eryngium planum reaches sizes of up to 90 cm and is about 50 cm wide.
