Tomato Carnica (climbing tomato) (seeds)
Lycopersicon esculentum
Now we enter the world of climbing tomatoes. Climbing tomatoes do not form tendrils and cannot climb. Climbing tomatoes are robust tomatoes for the open field that show enormous annual growth. They can be trained up trellises, terraces and pergolas and cover them with greenery within a short time. Carnica is one of these. With a growth of 4m, it is one of the fast-growing varieties.
It forms very few suckers, let it grow with one or three shoots on the house wall, supported by a wire or rope. Fruits are shaped like topedos, narrower at the back than at the front, and ripen early. The consistency is firm and the aroma is fine, spicy and fruity.
If you don't have a climbing plant available, you can grow the tomatoes lying down outdoors or simply guide them up on tomato strings and let them down over time.
